United Nations Volunteers

The United Nations Volunteers programme is a United Nations organization that contributes to peace and development through volunteerism worldwide.

The Regional Training Programme on Green Technologies and Business Models, implemented by ESCWA with the support of the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development, is a comprehensive initiative designed to foster a culture of sustainability and innovation across the Arab region. The programme offers a series of specialized online courses that address key sectors including renewable energy, sustainable agriculture, water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH), and digital agricultural technologies. By integrating technical knowledge with entrepreneurial thinking, each course aims to empower participants with the skills needed to design and implement innovative, practical, and context-specific solutions. These solutions not only address pressing environmental challenges but also open pathways for economic development, job creation, and improved quality of life in local communities. With a strong focus on hands-on learning, real-world case studies, and regional success stories, the programme encourages participants to take active roles in the green transformation of their societies and to contribute meaningfully to sustainable development efforts in the Arab world.
